Canon Zoom, finally!

Canon has finally release a pair of big-zoom cameras!



The Pro1, priced at $1000, 7x zoom, 8 megapixels. No IS, too bad, but definitely the way better looking camera of the pair. Has a hot shoe, too. Obviously the G-Series replacement; it uses the same great BP-511 battery.



The S1 IS, priced at a mere $500 (wow!), 10x zoom (stablized!), only 3 megapixels. No hotshoe, and it uses AAs - why? This appears to be a video-camera wannabe, with zooming allowed during recording, and unlimited recording time.
