I've never thought it was a good idea to may people suffer through animations, whether GIF or Flash, unless they ask for them (in the form of a demo, or something.) I'm working out of office today, and using a dialup connection to a computer in my office. This method of getting on the internet works great, until I get to a page with animation.

Since the remote desktop software is simply sending screen information, animations create a never-ending stream of updates, making the page completely unusable.

Oh, the price people have to pay for "cool" animations . . .
