New Computer

After having my laptop for 16 months - that has to be a record! - I've finally got upgraded. The big difference is the screen; it's the same size, but the new one actually shows colors correctly. I didn't realize it at first, but the UXGA screen on most Latitudes completely loses really light colors, making things look really different than on a regular monitor. The new one also adds a CD-R and is a 2 Ghz P4.

  1. Windows XP Professional, single NTFS partition
    • Remove MSN Explorer, Add Fax, IIS
    • Load Dell Resource CD, and load all the drivers
    • Intellipoint drivers
    • Windows Update, grab all the Security, XP, and Drivers updates
    • Copy local files off the old computer
    • Map drives:
      B: to work desktop
      K: to Krista's files, make available offline
      M: to MP3 collection, make available offline
      W: to web folders, make available offline
    • Reroute My Documents to work off of W
