For a couple weeks we're studying I Peter in our youth group meetings. Last night my group make it through part of chapter one. We were looking for reminders, things to resolve to do, and a verse to memorize.
Reminders
- I'm thankful for my salvation 1Pe 1:3
- I have a duty to obey 1Pe 1:2
- I have the hope of an incredible inheritance 1Pe 1:4
- I'm sustained / protected by the power of God 1Pe 1:5; John 10:28-29
- I'm chosen!
1Pe 1:2
- Trials are worth it 1Pe 1:7
- I have free access to God's Word, unlike the Old Testament believers 1Pe 1:10-12
- I'm going to have a cool new body when I meet him 1Pe 1:8; 1Jo 3:2
- I need to be faithful 1Pe 1:7
Resolutions
- I will obey 1Pe 1:2
- I will rejoice in trials, even when I'm in the middle of going through them 1Pe 1:6
- I will focus on being particuarly attentive to a few people to be concerned about and pay special attention to 1Pe 1:1
- I will share my hope with others 1Pe 1:4
- Christ is coming again - will I be ready to face Him? 1Pe 1:8
Recall
We're going to memorize 1Pe 1:13 before next week:
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
