A Thriving Relationship

Prayer is not a religious exercise, it's a conversation with God. We don't typically think of it as a two-way talk, and usually spend the time in a monologue. Does God talk, too? Yes! Through the Word He has already given, through the teaching of the Holy Spirit, and through the works He does.
Prerequisites to a good conversation
- It shall be done, if you abide in Him Jn 15:7
- Fervently praying from a righteous life can do much Jas 5:16
- Accompanied by singing praises to God Act 16:25
- Must be accompanied by humility, seeking God, and repentance from wickedness2Ch 7:14
- Pray according to His will 1Jo 5:14
- Prayer gets all things to those who ask in Jesus' name, believing Mt 21:22
Results of a good relationship
- Pray to strengthen each other in Christ Eph 6:18, and all of us in faith Jude 1:20
- All things are done, so that the Father may be glorified Jn 14:13
- Brings powerful results Jas 5:18, 1Ki 17:21-22
- Brings salvation Lu 23:42
- Prayer brings the power of the Spirit and boldness Ac 4:31
- Pray for forgiveness, as you also willingly forgive others Mat 6:12
Consequences of neglecting good together-time
- Lose out on forgiveness of sins Is 43:26
- Become stupid Jer 10:21
- You have not Jas 4:2,3, and when you do ask it's for the wrong reason
