The conclusion of the book of Joshua handles:
- Assignment of cities and land to the tribes of Israel
- Reubenites and Gadites and half of Manesseh returned back to the other side of the Jordan, which Israel had conquered way back when Moses was leading them Jos 13:7.
- On the way, they created a memorial that almost started a civil war because it looked like they were going to do their own way with worshipping God. Jos 22:10-34
- Judah, Ephraim, and the rest of Manasseh received their land and cities
- Caleb, at 85, was a strong as he was at 40, and ready to go get his own inheritance, which he picked a stronghold of giants to go defeat.
- Five daughters of a man without any sons made an appeal for an inheritance, and received one as well
- Once Judah and Joseph's sons were situated the land was designated for the smaller remaining tribes:
- Benjamin was squeezed between Judah and Ephraim
- Simeon shared Judah's land, because it was too much for Judah
- Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Naptali, and Dan
- Six cities of refuge were appointed throughout the land
- Levi didn't get any land, instead had cities scattered through all the other tribes Jos 13:14; 21
- Reubenites and Gadites and half of Manesseh returned back to the other side of the Jordan, which Israel had conquered way back when Moses was leading them Jos 13:7.
- All is at rest, and victory has been assured § God kept all His promises! Jos 21:43-45
- Joshua concludes with a reminder for the nation to continue to follow God, reminding them of all God has done Jos 23, 24, and to choose to serve God Jos 24:15
